TE Hub workshop: developing benchmarks for TE research/methods/tools/bioinformatics

TEHub_WS

Following the ICTE meeting, the TE Hub will host a half-day (9 am-1 pm) workshop on Wednesday the 24th (same location), aimed at discussing and developing community-guided references/benchmarks for TE annotation tools. Despite the availability of a myriad of bioinformatic tools dedicated to TE analysis, it can be challenging to evaluate their accuracy and error profiles, suggesting an important role for community-developed Benchmarks. This workshop will be divided between a series of short invited talks and a time for group discussion.

The objective of the workshop is to produce a white paper including definitions and guidelines sourced by the community as a stepping-stone to further develop trusted benchmarks. The TE Hub will ensure the perpetuation of the project through the establishment of a functional group.

In order to contribute to the catering cost for the day (coffee breaks and picnic basket), participation in the workshop will include a 20€ extra fee.
